Environmental Policy statement


This is the Environmental Policy Statement of: Rylands Associates Ltd

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.
It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same. Not only is this sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.

Our statement of general policy is:

  •  Wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice;
  •  Minimise our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as possible;
  •  Minimise energy and water usage in our buildings, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies, and minimise our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable;
  •  Operate and maintain company vehicles with due regard to environmental issues as far as reasonably practical;
  •  Apply the principles of continuous improvement in respect of air, water, noise and light pollution from our premises and reduce any impacts from our operations on the environment and local community;
  •  As far as possible purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment and encourage others to do the same;
  •  Assess the environmental impact of any new processes or products we intend to introduce in advance;
  •  Ensure that all employees understand our environmental policy and conform to the high standards it requires;
  •  Address complaints about any breach of our Environmental Policy promptly and to the satisfaction of all concerned; and
  •  Update our Environmental Policy annually in consultation with staff, associates and customers.

Equality & Diversity Policy Statement

Our statement of general policy is:

To provide diversity and equality to all in employment, irrespective of their gender, race, ethnic origin, disability, age, nationality, national origin, sexuality, religion or belief, marital status and social class. We oppose all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination. All employees, whether part time, full time or temporary, will be treated fairly and equally. Selection for employment, promotion, training or any other benefit will be on the basis of aptitude and ability.
All employees will be helped and encouraged to develop their full potential and the talents and resources of the workforce will be fully utilised to maximise the efficiency of the organisation.

Health and Safety Policy Statement

Our statement of general policy is:

  •  to provide adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities;
  •  to consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety;
  •  to provide and maintain safe plant and equipment;
  •  to ensure safe handling and use of substances;
  •  to provide information, instruction and supervision for employees;
  •  to ensure all employees are competent to do their tasks, and to give them adequate training;
  •  to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health;
  •  to maintain safe and healthy working conditions; and
  •  to review and revise this policy as necessary at regular intervals
